At the very bottom tip of New Jersey is Cape May, a charming little town filled with old fashioned houses. Rather fancy for my taste, but fun to admire the craftsmanship that went into all the details. Bright houses, gigantic old trees, lush landscaping with flowers everywhere. Salty air, quite the place to be.
Oh, to smell that air, to feel the sand + waves once again.
A cozy Christmas Eve, in our pj’s, one last snapshot to end an evening filled with family + smiles. Ah, the fresh scent of our second tree together, the lights, a few childhood ornaments amongst the new. The comfort + promise of so many more to come. Time together, seasons, memories. To grow + expand with our hopes and dreams.
And I realize, that is what this season is all about. The gift of sharing ourselves with others, laughing, loving, just being there. I couldn’t tell you every toy I got as a child, but I could tell you how it felt standing next to my Grandpa at church on Christmas Eve, his deep, clear voice harmonizing with my Grandma’s as we all sang of such joy, hope, and peace. The way the candles flickered + glowed so much warmth as we remembered, all is calm, all is bright. The brisk night air, the stars, the contentment knowing what it meant to be blessed with a family who was always there for me.
As we grow up, the magic of the season shifts + changes, people come and go, but that love + hope is always there if we remember to seek it. Families grow, new traditions are made, but still that simple act of togetherness will always be the best gift we can ever share.
A visit to the orchard in the countryside. Rolling fields, golden light, soaring geese. A giant oak tree, rows of apple trees, pumpkins and gourds. Slow. Peaceful. So many apples to choose from, grown just steps away. Yum. The best way to spend a magnificent fall Sunday.
How life moves, grows, changes every second of every day. Tiny changes that end up being much more. Shaped + molded by the small things, becoming who we are supposed to be. Moments captured, to help us remember all that is beautiful in this journey of life.
A hidden path, nature’s perfectly composed photo, shadows, light, the rhythm of the seasons.

Another Pinterest Challenge project, from younghouselove.com. Inspired by the colors + leaves of autumn, and this
, and this
image from Pinterest, I carved a simple leaf stamp and printed it onto cardstock with gradating ink in fall colors. The beauty of printmaking is you can make multiple copies, so I created four cards to give to some special family members whose birthdays were quickly approaching. I still get excited every time you first peel back your stamp from the paper. Simple, instant (well, after you’re done carving anyway), fun! I so enjoy sharing my creations with my nearest + dearest.
And I so adore this time of year…stay tuned for some more fall inspired photos.
A sunny autumn walk through the trails of the place where our forever began. The crunch of leaves, the warm glow through all the brilliant colors. There is something comforting and cozy this time of year, as the chill of winter inches closer. Last moments to take in the growth of spring + summer, displayed now in all its glorious beauty. Breathe in the earthy scent, see the swirling leaves, appreciate the rhythm of the seasons here for us, right now. Time moves on, we change within, yet we know each fall we will be greeted with the brightest oranges, reds, golden yellows. It is these constants that bring us such hope + joy.
